PRIVACY POLICY

Your family’s record belongs to your family.

Effective August 8, 2026

Kinleaf is designed as a local-first family care and development organizer. This policy explains the information Kinleaf handles and the choices available to families.

Information you choose to record

Kinleaf may contain child profiles, care entries, foods, sleep, diapers, moods, activities, health observations, medications, measurements, milestone observations, calendar events, notes, photos, scanned daycare-report information, caregiver attribution, and development goals. You decide what to enter and which trackers to display.

Apple platform protections and Kinleaf’s responsibility

Kinleaf benefits from security and privacy protections built into iOS and Apple services, including app isolation, device data protection, Apple Account authentication, and CloudKit access controls. Distribution through the App Store also requires Kinleaf to disclose its privacy practices and follow Apple’s review rules. These protections do not transfer responsibility for Kinleaf’s data practices to Apple: Kinleaf remains responsible for minimizing access, securing its implementation, maintaining accurate privacy disclosures, and complying with applicable law.

Local storage and iCloud

Kinleaf keeps a local copy of its records on the device. When a family enables synchronization, Kinleaf uses private Apple CloudKit records and Apple-managed sharing to store and exchange records through participating family members’ iCloud accounts. Kinleaf does not operate an independent advertising database of family records. Kinleaf does not describe every CloudKit record as end-to-end encrypted unless that additional protection has been specifically configured and verified.

Photos and device protection

Private photos are protected using Kinleaf’s device vault mechanisms. Device access can be protected using Face ID or the device passcode where enabled. Families remain responsible for protecting their Apple Accounts and devices.

Daycare scanning and smart features

Supported report scanning uses Apple platform capabilities to recognize information for review. Families should verify detected information before importing it. Kinleaf’s current smart stories are created on the device from recorded entries and require parent review before saving.

Advertising and tracking

Kinleaf does not create advertising profiles and does not sell a family’s care or developmental information. The app does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

Sharing and caregivers

When family sharing is enabled, invited participants may be able to view or edit shared family records according to the Apple-managed share. The family owner controls invitations and can manage participation through Kinleaf’s Family Sharing screen.

Retention, export, and deletion

Records remain available until changed or deleted by the family, removed with the app’s data, or removed from the applicable iCloud space. Kinleaf provides controls to export and delete data. Deleting the app may remove local data; synchronized information may remain in iCloud until separately deleted.

Children’s privacy

Kinleaf is intended for use by parents, guardians, and authorized caregivers—not for independent use by children. Adults should avoid recording information that is unnecessary for the family’s care and development purposes.

Health and development information

Kinleaf organizes information supplied by families. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose conditions, does not determine whether care is urgent, and does not replace qualified professional advice.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Kinleaf evolves. Material changes will be reflected through an updated effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app or App Store notice.
